Driven by Passion, Designed to Perfection.

Kelly Younger Interior
Adrienne had always been drawn to interior design, even from a young age; however, her original career path led her in a much different direction. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health and worked for the University of Michigan Ann Arbor in cancer research. Later, while working as pharmaceutical sales representative, she realized that she wanted to pursue her true passion. She began her formal design training while working under Dennis Younger, a highly respected interior designer in Flint, Michigan. Adrienne honed her skills and trained her eye for exceptional design while working as his design assistant. Over the years while working full time as Dennis' assistant, Adrienne developed her own clients and began working independently on design projects in Michigan and across the country. Adrienne has now been working in the design field for almost 10 years.

After Dennis suffered from a sudden stroke and lost the physical ability to design in 2012, Adrienne took ownership of the design firm from Chris Kelly and Dennis Younger. Adrienne said, “When I visited Dennis for the first time after having the stroke, I realized how important it was to carry on the business. Every day I realize that I have very big shoes to fill, and I work effortlessly to create the same high caliber designs that Dennis accomplished.”

With ownership of Kelly-Younger Interiors, Adrienne was fortunate to obtain a design house boasting a successful business model of 40 years. "We are a luxury design firm that places the utmost importance on customer satisfaction. We hold fine furnishing, textile and lighting accounts available only to the design trade. Our designers are trained in design, and we align ourselves with only the most talented trades men and women in the business. Our main goal is, and always will be, to provide exceptional service to our clients and to produce a truly exquisite finished design. "

Adrienne is the Principal Designer in the firm. This entails working on multiple design projects simultaneously, managing furniture, fabric, and lighting accounts and updating studio materials. She works closely with architects, contractors and those in the skilled trades on various projects, including new home construction and remodeling. “My passion for design holds my motivation for maintaining excellent relationships with our clients, as well as the tradesmen and women. Design is truly a group effort – with the support of everyone working on a project, the outcome is always outstanding. I am constantly growing as a designer and learning from these corroborative efforts”.

The financial details of the business are managed by co-owner Bethany Griffin. As the Business Manager of Kelly-Younger Interiors, she handles vendor accounts, supervises orders, quality control and installations. Bethany holds her Bachelor degree in Business Administration and is a member of and has worked for the Michigan Design Center in Troy, MI.

Adrienne & Bethany have lived in Fenton for many years, and are proud to be a part of this community. They decided to open their business at 405 S. Leroy Street in July of 2013. “We chose to move the business to Fenton to support the community in which we live, and to be closer to the amenities that downtown Fenton has to offer. Our clients, many of whom reside in Fenton and Ann Arbor, enjoy coming to our studio for meetings and later enjoying a meal at The Laundry and shopping along the way. Downtown Fenton has so many wonderful things to offer, and it is exciting to be a part of the growth that is happening here. Everyone has been very supportive of one another.”

With an appreciation for fine design, they take considerable pride in their attractive storefront and work very closely with the building's landlord as well as surrounding businesses to beautify the area around them. “We are always concerned to see a historical property deteriorate and would like to prevent this from happening.” Adrienne said, "We are thrilled to lease such a beautiful space that holds the details of one that is a century old and give it new life. We were able to remove some of the items that had been added through the years, taking away from the true beauty and integrity of the original architecture. We removed large barn wood beams and exposed the brick walls and hardwood floors. We enjoy having an open studio concept so that our clients can appreciate the details of the original building.” And while it is not typically the way they acquire new clients, they are always excited when some contacts them after seeing the studio storefront

Kelly-Younger Interiors is a "boutique design firm" which does not keep typical retail store hours like many of the businesses surrounding them in the Dibbleville area. They are fortunate to have an established clientele based mostly on their reputation and referrals from existing clients. One of the ways they have strengthened the success of their business is by working on an appointment only basis. This allows designers to provide each of their clients with personalized service, privacy and limited distraction. The designers build very close relationships with their clients, understanding that the personalities of the designer and client must meld together for a successful outcome. The designer's main goal is that the client has a space that reflects their own taste and personality.

In addition to residential design, Kelly-Younger Interiors also offers commercial design services. They have been fortunate to design for local businesses, such as ReJuv Ave. and Randy Wise Buick GMC design spaces that are functional, beautiful spaces for their clients. Locally they began using Billmeier Camera Shop for all their framing needs.

Senior Interior Designer Janice Moore Henry is another key member of Kelly-Younger Interiors. Janice has been an interior designer for nearly 30 years, 20 of which have been with Kelly-Younger Interiors, and has worked on projects across the country. She is an Allied Member of ASID and has lived in the Flint, Michigan community for 20 years. She is actively involved in the Flint Institute of Arts, where her husband, John B. Henry III, is the Director. Design Associate Elizabeth Wise is also a part of the design team. Elizabeth is currently working to further her education and training in interior design. She is an integral part of the team at Kelly-Younger Interiors and assists on several projects. Elizabeth has been a part of the Fenton community for over 30 years, having lived in the area since birth. Her husband, Chris, is also a business owner in Fenton, working alongside his father at Randy Wise Buick GMC.
