The Fenton
City Council and City administration will host a Community Visioning Forum to
discuss ideas for Fenton’s future. Fenton citizens are encouraged to attend this
community forum and share their vision on
Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 6:00 pm– 9:00 pm at Andrew G. Schmidt Middle School Cafeteria, 3255 Donaldson Drive,
Fenton, MI. This working session will explore Fenton’s greatest opportunities,
the community’s core values, what assets to preserve, what to improve, and what
Fenton could look like in 10 years. The
results of this visioning forum will provide the basis for
the Council to compare previous discussions and develop a final community
strategic plan.
To date the
Mayor, Council and City Manager have successfully created the building blocks
for this important
next step. With past initiatives and plans the City has brought the Council and
the Downtown
Development Authority together and created a shared direction and a positive
reciprocal relationship,
leading to cost savings and a focused approach to the downtown. The City has successfully
developed and maintained the center of the community (downtown) and the
economic engine for the
community (Silver Lake Parkway). These and other initiatives have allowed for
the critical next
step of addressing other key areas of the community including the North Leroy
St. Corridor and neighborhoods within the City.
The forum gives the entire community the
opportunity to contribute ideas toward Fenton’s vibrant future. All ideas, will be heard, discussed
and documented. Citizen involvement in this forum, is an essential element of the visioning-goal
setting process and the final Strategic Plan.
Dinner
and childcare will be provided. For more information, visit CityofFenton.org
