The Fenton High School Jazz Orchestra will join The Fenton Community Orchestra for Fourth Annual Spring Concert
The Fenton Community Orchestra and the Fenton High School Jazz Orchestra will join forces once again to present their fourth annual spring concert on Friday, May 2, 7:30pm at the Fenton High School Auditorium. Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated. Light refreshments will be served after the concert. Fenton High School is located at 3200 W Shiawassee Ave. Fenton, MI 48430. Music lovers of all ages will enjoy a wonderful evening of well-known classical and jazz compositions and arrangements performed by The Fenton Community Orchestra and The Fenton High School Jazz Orchestra. Hear timeless classical works such as Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet Overture,” Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville,” and Johann Strauss’ “Blue Danube Waltz” as well as jazz and pop standards including Paul Desmond “Take Five,” Gerald Marks and Seymour Simons’ “All of Me,” and Duke Ellington’s “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore”. Both the orchestra and the jazz ensemble are under the direction of Mr. Andrew Perkins, Director of Instrumental Music at Fenton High School. “I’m so pleased and proud that we can offer this kind of opportunity to share the gift of music at a local level,” said Andrew Perkins, Director of Music. “The orchestra truly is a wonderful asset to our community.” About Fenton Community Orchestra The Fenton Community Orchestra provides an enjoyable place where local musicians, ages 10 & up, learn and play music together with teamwork and respect resulting in great music to share and entertain our audience. The FCO enriches educational opportunities for local youth to perform along side experienced musicians while collaborating and enhancing the arts and cultural activities in the greater Fenton community. New members are always welcome, so dust off your instrument and join us! We rehearse Thursday evenings from 6-8pm in the band room at Fenton High School. Donations are tax deductible as we are a 501c(3) non-profit organization.
